I had a post just about finished to post earlier this week about paper pumpkin. My employer had other ideas. I had to work so much this week I could not get it finished. So Sorry.
The Global Design Project today is a really sweet theme, literally.
I went a little out of the box with this one, but I love the results. Don't you love it when a card idea actually turns out the way you want it to. The stamp set Swirly Bird is from the Annual Catalog. I was looking through my stamp sets and when I saw this one, I immediately thought of the large lollipops that swirl around in lots of bright, fun colors.
Other than the sentiment there is no stamping on this card. From the coordinating framelits, I cut the 2 circle images that nest together out of whisper white, highland heather, coastal cabana, pineapple punch, granny apple green and melon mambo. I did paper piercing for the swirl colors. I used a decorative straw (non from SU, please don't flog me) cut in half as the lollipop stick. Then I wrapped it in a piece of scrap cellophane.
Isn't that DSP paper so fun. It is from a suite in the Occasions Catalog called How Sweet it is. I will link the suite below. This card will definitely take extra postage. The lollipop sits up about 3/8" from the card base. It will be worth it to know it will make someone smile. I have enough pieces of cardstock to make 5 more of the lollipops.
I would love for you to let me know what you think of this project. It was really fun to put together. Please let a comment below.
Don't forget we are in the last month of sale-a-bration. Be sure to get your favorites before they are gone. Also check out the sale-a-bration coordination products that are only available during the month of March. Click on the link in the side bar to be taken to my online store.
I hope you all have a great week. Happy crafting. Jacqueline.
